What is a Variant-type option?

Variant-type options

  • This is the most commonly used option type.
  • Combinations are automatically generated based on the selected values.
  • Inventory can be managed by variant.
  • You can create up to 1,000 variant combinations per product.

What’s the difference between Preset variant selection, Multiple-option selection, and Independent selection?

Preset variant selection

  • The selected options are combined into a single dropdown box.
  • All option combinations are displayed in one field.
  • You can create up to 1,000 variants per product and manage inventory for each.
  • Recommended for products with a small number of combinations.

Multiple-option selection

  • Each option is displayed separately and values can be selected individually.
  • This format is common for options like color and size.
  • Up to 1,000 variant combinations can be created. Inventory can be tracked by variant.

Independent selection

  • Each selectable value is treated as a separate item. Selecting multiple values increases the quantity accordingly.
  • Commonly used for products with base and add-on components (e.g., required + optional items).
  • ※ Must include at least one required option.
  • Inventory can be managed for up to 1,000 variant entries per product.
