How do I apply for an SSL certificate?

An SSL certificate is automatically issued and installed when a domain is connected.

SSL certificates are issued and installed automatically

  1. Once a domain is connected to the domain settings page, the SSL issuance status will display as "Pending".
  2. The system automatically checks DNS status every 2 hours and begins certificate issuance.
  3. The final SSL status is "Installation complete". You must complete SSL installation to enable SHOP-level redirect settings.
  4. The certificate is typically issued within 48 hours. If issuance fails, a "Request Certificate" button will appear, allowing you to request manually.
※ If issuance fails 2 to 3 times or more, please stop trying and contact us via a 1:1 inquiry.

Manually requesting an SSL certificate

Go to SettingsGeneralStore profileDomain in your admin page and check the certificate request status in the SSL certificate section.

  1. If the certificate has not been issued yet in the domain detail settings, click the Request Certificate button.
  2. Once the certificate is issued and installed, you can proceed with design updates.

SSL certificate coverage provided by Cafe24

Cafe24 provides basic SSL certificates by default.
※ SSL is automatically applied to pages that handle personal data, such as login, sign-up, and checkout.
SSL is also applied to Cafe24 default domains, but may not be supported on mobile-only themes.
※ Certificates for manually added domains are issued automatically when the domain is connected.
※ SSL issuance is not available for domains such as: skin.{store ID}.cafe24shop.com or m.{store ID}.cafe24shop.com
※ SSL certificates are issued free of charge.

Note

  • SSL certificates cannot be issued for sub-subdomains like (shop_no).(store ID).cafe24shop.com because certificates in the format such as *.*.cafe24shop.com are not supported or issued under certificate authority policies
  • In some cases, access issues may be due to the user's environment. If you're experiencing problems, try accessing from another device.
