I set the product display order in the admin, but it looks different on the storefront.
If your storefront does not reflect the layout order you set in the admin, please check the following settings.
If subcategory products are set to display
When Display products in subcategories is set to On display for a category, products in its subcategories may also appear in that category’s product list. This may cause differences between the admin layout order and what is shown in the storefront.
If you want the storefront to display products in the exact order you configured in the admin, set Display products in subcategories to Not on display.
- Go to , and click the category name you want to edit.
- Set the Display products in subcategories option to Not on display, then click Save at the bottom.
If layout changes aren’t reflected when previewing via category URL
Check that the category’s Display status is set to On display.
For changes to take effect and show correctly in preview, the category must be visible. Otherwise, you won’t be able to preview layout changes (this also applies to settings like “Display out-of-stock products at the bottom”).
I set up product display, but the newest items are not showing at the top.
When layout is set to User-defined + Auto sort
Go to ProductsManage categoriesProduct categories.
Then, check whether the category's layout setting is User-defined + Auto sort.
Products sorted manually will be displayed first, followed by products arranged automatically based on the selected conditions.
When categories were changed in bulk
If you rearrange the layout order using a CSV file, the file must include the layout order for All products in that category. If you upload a file that contains only part of the product list, the display order may change unexpectedly.
To prevent this, when editing the layout via CSV, always include the full list of products assigned to that category.
What determines the order in which new arrivals appear in the storefront?
The order in which new products appear in the storefront is not based on the time they were registered,
but on the time they were set to On display in the New arrivals layout.
Example: Time of product registration — A: 9 AM / B: 10 AM
Home page category layout New arrivals display time — A: 11 AM / B: 10 AM
Frontend layout in New arrivals: B → A
