Domain verification
Domain verification is a feature in Facebook Channel that allows you to easily verify your store's primary domain.
First, log in to Facebook from Home and complete channel setup in the popup window.
Then, you can verify your domain in Marketing channels>Facebook Channel>Channel settings>Domain verification.
The domain address is automatically retrieved from the Primary domain registered for each multi-language store in Settings>General>Store profile>Domain settings, so you just need to click the Verify button. If a forwarding domain is already linked, the forwarding domain will be retrieved.
Is domain verification required?
Yes, it is highly recommended for the following reasons:
- Prove ownership of your domain
Prevent unauthorized use of your domain address, such as using it as an ad landing page without permission.
▶ Manage permissions for editing ad links (Click) - Use web events configuration in Aggregated Event Measurement
Since iOS 14.5, only verified domains can apply event configuration. The number of conversion events that can be used for campaign optimization is 8 per domain including subdomains.

How does domain verification work
Meta provides three domain verification methods: meta tag, HTML file upload, and DNS TXT.
Facebook Channel uses the meta tag verification method.
When you click the Verify button, a meta tag is inserted into the head of your website and the verification process between Business Manager and the domain is automatically handled.
Can I verify any domain?
You can only verify the primary domain of the multi-language store where Facebook Channel is installed, and the domain address is automatically retrieved from Settings>General>Store profile>Domain settings.
You cannot verify an expired domain.
For domains purchased from Cafe24, the expiration date is automatically detected and notified, but for domains purchased from other registrars, you need to manually add the expiration date in Settings>General>Store profile>Domain settings>Domains>Expiration date (other registrars). The system retrieves this manually registered information when checking expiration status.
Additionally, domain formats that Meta does not approve, such as facebook.com or https://facebook.com, may fail verification. If you receive a related notice, please update your domain.
Can I cancel domain verification?
If a domain is already verified, you can cancel domain verification by clicking the Remove button next to the primary domain address.
If you remove a domain verified in Facebook Channel, the meta tag embedded in your website, Business Manager, and domain ownership will all be removed. This will not affect existing HTML files or DNS TXT files.
However, if you verified using HTML file upload or DNS method, you will need to go through a separate process outside of Facebook Channel.
