What are server events?

Server events send customer events, such as add to cart and purchases, directly from Cafe24 servers to TikTok servers.

  1. Complete the setup in the popup that appears when you select Channel settings on Marketing channels>TikTok>TikTok Channel.

  2. Pixel will be installed on your store.

  3. Pixel sends customer events, such as add to cart and purchases, that occur in the browser.
▶ How do I use TikTok Channel Pixel?

However, due to the nature of browser events, data may be lost due to cookie blocking and other reasons.

Therefore, Cafe24 TikTok Channel provides server events as well as browser events (Pixel) to send data more accurately.

Benefits of using browser and server events together

  1. Reliable data sharing

Combining both types of events allows for more accurate data collection.
Reduces the possibility of data inconsistencies.
Minimizes the impact on tracking customer behavior events and ad delivery optimization through browser Pixel.
Cafe24 TikTok Channel provides the ability to use server events together with browser events to support more reliable data sharing for users.

  2. Accurate data delivery

If a customer leaves your store to complete payment through an external payment service (such as Naver Pay), there are limitations to tracking through browser events.
Server events can send data for completed purchase events even if the customer leaves the Cafe24 store.
Sending server events improves the accuracy of event data generated.
Enables tracking of deeper conversion paths.

Note

TikTok Channel browser events

The CompletePayment event has been added. The PlaceAnOrder event transmission has been discontinued.
The event is now sent as CompletePayment. The AddToCart event has been changed from being counted when entering the cart page to being counted when clicking the Add to cart button.

Note

If you're already using TikTok Channel and setting up server events

All products will be sent in the new product transmission format.

When you set up server events, they are automatically sent, so no additional action is required.
However, if products have already been sent through TikTok Channel, the same products may appear duplicated in TikTok Catalog.

Create new ads for the newly sent products.
Then pause or delete ads for the old products.
This ensures ads run for the newly sent products.  Old product format: Store ID + Product number New product format: Product number

Note

Resending server events when token expires

If the token has expired, server events will not be sent normally.
If you activate server events within 14 days, server events from the past 48 hours will be automatically resent.
