You can set the default layout for product categories in Store settings>Products>Product policies>Product category settings.
Product categories
- When you add a new product category, it's created with the configured default values.
This doesn't affect categories that have already been created. - If you want to apply the layout settings to all categories at once, click Bulk edit all categories.
- If you perform a bulk edit from a multi-language store other than your default store, please note that the change is also applied to product categories with Use default store settings across stores enabled.
You can configure the product category in Products>Manage products>Product categories.
Product layout
- You can set the product layout method for all categories or by section.
- Even when products from subcategories are displayed together, they follow the layout settings of the current category.
- If you select a sort option related to Sales or Views, you can additionally set a time period.
Example: If you set Sales (high-low) + 7 days, products are displayed in order of highest sales over the last 7 days.
Displaying out-of-stock products
You can set how out-of-stock products are displayed.
Displaying products in subcategories
- If you set Display products in subcategories to On display, products from all subcategories under the current category are displayed together.
- If you set Display products in subcategories to Not on display, products are displayed in the order shown on the storefront.
