Set free gift options for free gift incentives from the incentive settings menu.
When you add a free gift incentive, the free gift is applied and provided in your store based on the criteria set in the settings. These settings apply to all free gift incentives.
Configuring free gifts
Allow free gifts when orders are paid fully with points
You can set free gifts not to be provided when an order is paid fully with reward points.
Free gift calculation method
- Order subtotal refers to the sum of product sale prices before any discount, plus the shipping fee. (Note: the shipping fee may or may not be included in the calculation depending on the shipping fee inclusion setting.)
- Final payment amount refers to the actual amount paid by the customer after applying coupon discounts, point discounts, and so on.
- Include points used
Example: If customers can choose a free gift for orders of 19,000 KRW or more, when a customer pays with 20,000 KRW in cash, a 1,000 KRW coupon discount, and 1,000 KRW in points, the final payment amount is 18,000 KRW. Since points used are included, the customer still qualifies for the free gift because the total reaches 19,000 KRW or more.
Include shipping fee
- Exclude shipping fee
Example: If customers can choose a free gift for orders of 20,000 KRW or more, when a customer pays 17,000 KRW in cash plus a 3,000 KRW shipping fee, the shipping fee is excluded, so the customer cannot choose a free gift.
Show out-of-stock free gifts
- This applies when the gift issuance type is Customer-selected.
- For Auto-issued, free gifts are not provided when out of stock.
Gift issuance type
- Customer-selected: Customers can choose the free gift they want.
- Auto-issued: The specified free gift is automatically provided without the customer having to select it.
- For Auto-issued, you can use products without options as free gifts.
- For Auto-issued, free gifts are not provided when the gift's stock quantity is 0 or less.
Gift selection method
- Single selection: Customers can choose only 1 free gift.
- Multiple selection: Customers can choose 2 or more free gifts regardless of product category. (Displayed as checkboxes)
- For Multiple selection, the purchase point deduction feature applies to free gifts.
Note
Example A: A free gift incentive with the gift issuance type set to Customer-selected
- The free gift incentive applies when an order meets the criteria set for the free gift incentive.
- Customers can choose the free gift they want.
- When the free gift incentive is applied, customers can choose the free gift on the order completion page or order details page of the store.
- Customers can review the selected free gift details.
Example B: A free gift incentive with the gift issuance type set to Auto-issued
- The free gift incentive is automatically applied when an order meets the criteria set for the free gift incentive.
- When the free gift incentive is applied, customers can review the free gift details on the order completion page or order details page of the store.
Gift selection stage
When a guest accesses the free gift list, only free gift information that guests can choose is shown. Information about first-purchase gifts or customer-only gifts that are not available to guests is not shown.
Cart page
- The cart page is available only after configuring the theme.
- Customers can choose free gifts on the cart page.
- For Auto-issued free gift promotions, the free gift details are shown on the cart page.
Order completion page
- Customers can choose free gifts on the order completion page.
- This setting is enabled by default and cannot be turned off.
Order details page
- If a customer did not choose a free gift on the order completion page, they can choose one on the order details page until the order ships (in the Awaiting payment, Preparing products, Shipping on hold, Preparing shipment, or Shipping pending status).
- Allow only during the free gift period: The free gift selection button is shown on the order details page only for orders placed during the free gift period.
- Allow after the free gift period ends: The free gift selection button is shown on the order details page for orders placed during the free gift period, even after the period ends.
Caution
- Be careful with the order details page settings because the timing of reviewing orders for shipment may overlap with the timing of the customer choosing a free gift. This may result in customers not receiving the free gift they select later.
Allow reviews for free gifts
You can set whether customers can write product reviews for products provided as free gifts.
Free gift calculation scope
- All products in the order: Calculates the free gift points based on all products in the cart.
- Only eligible products: Calculates the free gift points only from products that match the product scope in the incentive details.
- When Only eligible products is selected, you can choose only Order subtotal under Free gift calculation method. Based on final payment amount is available only when All products in the order is selected.
- This setting is available when Free gift with purchase is selected as the incentive category.
- The calculation varies based on the Free gift calculation scope setting under Settings>Promotions>Incentive settings.
Note
- All products in the order: A free gift is provided when a customer orders one or more eligible products and the order subtotal falls within the purchase price range.
- Only eligible products: A free gift is provided when the order subtotal of eligible products falls within the purchase price range.
